0xy-fuel cutting
Our solution for flame cutting includes FLAMAL™ brand gases, an oxy-fuel flame and straight oxygen to form a cutting jet. The high flexibility of this process combined with its excellent cutting performance makes FLAMAL™ ideal for both manual and automatic flame cutting operations for use in metal fabrication, shipyards, boilers, scrapping, and installations.
Laser cutting
For laser cutting, a laser beam is focused on the base metal, and a cutting jet ejects the molten metal. This process is used mainly on thin metals requiring high precision and high productivity. Air Liquide can provide you with optimized and innovative gas installations and gas equipment to meet all your flowrate and pressure needs for lasing gas and process gases. Air Liquide’s LASAL™ premium gases improves performance and reliability of specialized laser cutting jobs.
Laser welding
The laser beam produced by a CO2 laseror a solid state laser is used for high-penetration, high-speed welding processes where mainstream processes cannot deliver the required distortion and/or productivity. With Nexelia for laser welding, Air Liquide provides a all-in-one solution to reduce your production cost thanks to innovative nozzles.
MAG and TIG welding
Metal Active Gas (MAG) welding is highly flexible and adaptive, and is used when you wish to obtain high productivity and high quality results. This process is used for manual and semi-automatic welding or automated/robotized installations on low-alloy carbon steels or hig h-alloy stainless steels. MAG welding is widely used in shipbuilding, construction and the production of heavy plants and machinery. Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding is commonly used for joining stainless steels, aluminum and aluminum alloys – enables a very high quality of welding to be achieved in particularly demanding sectors of application, such as pressure vessels and pipelines. The process uses an electric arc between the metals to be joined and an infusible tungsten-based electrode, located in the welding torch.
Plasma cutting
Plasma cutting is used to thermally separate metallic materials that cannot be cut by a flame. It allows for a smaller cutting angle compared to flame cutting, high cutting speed, clean and smooth cutting edges, and high-quality welded joints. It is widely used on all types of metal to achieve high-quality cuts and high levels of productivity. Under certain circumstances plasma cutting can achieve a comparable quality level to laser cutting, but at considerably lower production cost.
